Composed & Produced by Rodin JS Kumar, (The BrandLaureate Creative Arts Icon), Light Up a Dying Star<\/strong> is about the choices we make and every dream that we chase has its cost.\u00a0<\/p>

Seen through the lens of a young musician, it is a reflection of a universal theme- In search of a dying star – a symbol of purpose he refuses to abandon.\u00a0 A journey of love, loss, dignity, hope and human resilience.\u00a0<\/p>

Light Up a Dying Star<\/strong> is not a story about fame, music, or success. It is a story about human choice under pressure \u2014 and what happens when meaning is always postponed.<\/p>

At its core, the musical asks a single question:<\/p>

What happens when the thing that gives our life meaning slowly replaces the people who give our life value?<\/strong><\/p>

This is not a moral fable. It is not a redemption story. It is a humanist tragedy \u2014\u2014 A psychological and mythic exploration about how the same creative force that gives life meaning can also destroy what we love when responsibility is endlessly postponed.<\/p>

Before the full staged musical production, we wish to share the musical \u201cDNA\u201d with the audience- intimate, powerful, and stripped of theatrical staging. Rodin JS Kumar is a Malaysian-born Creative Entrepreneur whose work lives at the crossroads of art, intellect, and enterprise. Composer, producer, author, impresario, and professionally trained accountant, he embodies a rare fusion of artistry and pragmatism\u2014shaping narratives that resonate with emotional depth and intellectual rigor. Professionally qualified in accountancy, audit and finance, he is deeply passionate about the arts and considers them his second true calling in life, valuing the power of creativity and self-expression above all else. Though a non-idealist, Rodin believes in exploring one’s passions and talents and encourages others to do the same.\u00a0<\/p>

He is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA, USA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA, USA) and\u00a0 has a\u00a0 postgraduate degree in Finance, MSc in Finance from the University of Leicester, UK. He is a founder of the \u00a0KL International Jazz & Arts Festival (KLIJAF) as well as the KL Jazz & Arts Centre (KLJAC) that houses the KL City Art Gallery and the Kind A \u00a0Blue Jazz Club. \u00a0<\/p>
